“My family are from Benin city Edo state in Nigeria. My work strongly connects with the beauty of my culture, traditions and all the pros of being a black womxn in my generation. I use different media to create my artwork. It usually all depends on the topic or issues I’m trying to portray to the audience and what best carries the message well. I’m now mainly focused on painting on metal and photography to show strength as well as capturing the things I love about myself and my heritage.”

How have the cloud/cloud communities helped you?
They’ve helped me in discovering like minded artists/people who inspire me through their work and some pushing me within my art showing love, support and giving different opportunities and platforms for me to get involved in.

How would you say London expresses itself?
London expresses itself through the different voices that lie within it.

What do you want to convey to the rest of the world?
I want to show through my work that there’s so much beauty around the world. Just because you’re born in one place it doesn’t mean you can’t explore, discover, teach and respect everything and everyone’s culture. My work shows the beauty of being a black womxn and expresses the love I have for my mother land, Benin city Edo state.

How do you determine success?
Success to me has always meant personal achievement. I determine how successful I am by the amount of joy it brings to me. If I’m pleased and I’ve learnt from whatever I’ve done then that’s successful for me!
